Areas of Interest

Classical thought in early China to political history of the People's Republic of China with a focus on the late imperial period (the Ming-Qing dynasties, 1368-1911). My current research projects are situated at the intersection of intellectual history and social history, and I am intrigued by how ideas and social contexts inform one another.
